Food for life. Or something like that.

1 Aikido: My Progress

Yes, I've started doing Aikido. All I have to say is: IT HURTS!
But it feels good. I'm in no mood to break boards, kick, jump, and "other" MMA junk. Especially at this age. Plus, with my dabbling in Shiatsu, it was only natural to try this - AT LAST!

2 About the site

This is my experimentation playground.
CSS/JS, PHP, MySQL are the main techologies I use, and here I will test, and develop snippets that I use in my day-to-day functions as a web developer. So, if something is broken, you can let me know, but in general, I don't and will not care. ever.

3 No Graphics!

I hate over-graphicized sites (is that a word even?).
So, this site uses ZERO (none, nada, nista, nema) graphics, and unless required for the story, it will never use any. :)
Deal with it.
Oh, and get Opera 10+, Firefox 3.5+, or Safari 4+.

Why AiKiDo?

Because I don't care about BJJ/Kung-fu/Jeet-kune-do is better then your Judo/Karate/Insert-Your-Own-Fu-Do.

Also, Brasilian JuJutsu (look it up, doesn't matter Fu-Da) when spelled like above, have some interesting conotations if you are inclined to see it that way. ;)
Now, on a serious note, I've always leaned toward the particular style, and with my ever increasing interest in Shiatsu as of last few years, It is truly complementary to take on AiKiDo not for the "fighting", or even self defense (as is the case with many), but more as a learning experience toward better and healthier living overall.

I think the very nature of AiKiDo is more suited to a completely different group of people then, for example MMA training is. And, it should be viewed as such. A different learning. That's all.

Why you tube stuff?

It's great. Simple as that. There are MANY teachers, and you get to see different styles. I happen to like the way Sansei G. Boaz does it (vids on the left).

You can also go and look for some original/vintage footage of O'Sansei Ueshiba himself. But more to the point, it is the angles, footwork and execution that I like to see the most.

Basic! NOT AS SIMPLE as it looks!

It is hard to UNLEARN something.

Learned it last week! Turning is hard!

This is the "expanded"/"warning"/"look-at-me" part of the page!

I like toys. Just like any other boy does. And, in particular, I like NEWER, BETTER toys. I don't care how long it takes for me to master a toy, I really WANT TO USE IT! With that in mind, I'd like you all to understand that I LOATHE users of Microsoft Internet Explorer. (around 60% of intenet users!)

If you USE it, I don't care for you. You should NOT be on this site, and you are better off reading (p)msn(ews).com. Please go away. Plenty has been said how IE is bad, but I'll just say this: as M$ was getting bigger, so was their waistline. Consequently, their ability to be nimble in the emerging technologies was lessened, their view of Internet was myopic, and over time IE has been the marginal force of M$ bottom line. So Mr. Steve eBallmer has made it his priority to leave IE in the state as it was 10 years ago, or if possible, make it more bloated, slower, and half-assed.
Job well done Mr.eBallmer!

Unlike in 2000-2003 period, there are PLENTY of fantastic tools to browse the internet, and none of the best 3 has a Microsoft in front of their name.
Go get a browser that is modern, fast, standards compliant, and safe(r) then the IE. Google it, don't ask me. Just go away. Oh, wait, you probably use BING...

Or go buy a Prius - just leave my site.
